Join us for a fun workshop all about pointillism! Pointillism is an offshoot of Impressionism in which the painting technique uses dots of color to achieve the forms. When the painting is viewed from a distance, the dots merge to create wonderful colors that scintillate in the light! In this workshop, you will learn an easy way of creating pointillist works like those of Georges Seurat, Paul Signac, and others who led this movement of Post-Impressionism.

Learn how to create a stunningly decorated large platter using either wheelthrowing techniques or by hand building using a slab over a form. Throwers who have difficulty with larger clay will learn how to handle big clay with minimal strength. We will demonstrate how to create unique textural patterns alongside glazing techniques, making each platter a tactile and visual feast. Students may leave their work to be bisque fired at the Art School.

Sign Art II

This class explores alternative methods and materials such as hand-cut letters, compressed foam, styrene, and spray paint. All artists will build a personalized sign for the home or workspace.
